Why Climate Justice Is My #1 Priority — and Should Be Yours, Too

Working for women, working for good education, working for good jobs, working for better salaries, working for promotions, and advancement, and representation — all of that is not going to be possible on a dead planet.
— Pat Mitchell

I had the pleasure of talking this past week with Amanda Hirsch on her Mighty Forces newsletter about the climate justice advocacy work that Connected Women Leaders, a cohort of women leaders from around the globe that I co-founded in 2017 with Ronda Carnegie and Hafsat Abiola. The mission of Amanda’s Mighty Forces collective is to inspire and support more women to tell their stories. Because, she says, when we share our stories — the power we unleash is a mighty force. Hear hear!

At Connected Women Leaders, we believe stories are our bridges and connecting women to each other to share their stories, their learnings, ideas and insights creates a collective force for problem solving and positive change. As I told Amanda in our conversation, which you can watch here, our most recent initiative, Project Dandelion, a global, women-led climate justice campaign that shifts the narrative from fear to hope, to ensure the planet is a habitable home for everyone. Project Dandelion will spread stories about solutions that work while also calling out companies that aren’t taking action.

I hope you’ll visit Amanda’s website, watch our conversation and sign our Project Dandelion pledge to prioritize and make climate justice personal in your own lives.

The planet — and our future — depends on it.
