The Transformative Power of Mentorships

The best mentorships contain learnings for both the mentor and the mentee. This week, I want to share the journey I took with Catalina Escobar, the founder of Colombia’s Juanfe Foundation, which offers an innovative model of care, education, and job training that is disrupting a cycle of violence in families and communities resulting in unwanted teen pregnancies and intergenerational poverty.

Some of you may have received the announcement this week already, but as friends, colleagues and a connected community of readers, I wanted to share a personal perspective on the news about TEDWomen. I was part of a contingent of women leaders who went to NYC last week with a proposal to shift the narrative of fear to one of hope and radical optimism. The "magic" that results when the TEDWomen community comes together was very evident in Palm Springs this year. I was so thrilled to see old friends, make new ones and listen to the more than 40 speakers and entertainers share their ideas around this year's theme of "What Now?"

What Now? TEDWomen 2021 Speakers Announced Today!

Now in our 11th year, I’m so thrilled that we will be convening in person in sunny Palm Springs. I hope to see you there!
