Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka on Gender Equality

See this content in the original post

On today’s episode of Dangerous Women, I had the pleasure of speaking with former executive director of UN Women, Phumzile Mlambo Ngcuka. We discussed her work on increasing national accountability for preventing gender-based violence, and engaging faith & community leaders en route to gender equality. Phumzile spoke about increasing digital literacy and education opportunities among girls, and the impact of women leaders in private, public, and national institutions.

“It is important that we continue to raise these issues because there is an illusion of progress sometimes…we need to point them to the numbers so they can see that…we need more women to be in the space to represent the variety of women in society.”

- Phumzile Mlambo Ngcuka
