Conserving Africa with NatGeo Explorer Beverly Joubert

I had the honor of speaking with renowned photographer and filmmaker Beverly Joubert on this week’s Dangerous Women: Leading Onward episode. Beverly has been exploring, observing, and championing wild places in Africa for over 30 years. Passionate about the conservation and expansion of natural habitats in Africa, Beverly founded the Great Plains Foundation, an organization whose mission is to preserve, rescue and recover, landscapes, wildlife and communities in Africa.

During our discussion, Beverly spoke of the dangers of her work and of the life changing lessons she learned from a near-death experience. She shared how she came through the other side of tragedy, saying,

“Coming through that journey, I had an immense understanding that we, as humans, need to have the right mental attitude…and support structure.”
