As the former Minister of Health in Rwanda during the AIDS and Ebola epidemic, and now as Vice Chancellor and Co-Founder of the University of Global Health Equity, Dr. Binagwaho’s story is one of courageous leadership.

During our conversation, Dr. Binagwaho spoke of the vaccine shortage in Rwanda, the vital role women played in Rwanda’s recovery from the 1994 genocide, and why the world is still so far behind on gender equality.
